We are seeking 4 legal interns to start in late May or early June 2025. Our internships run for approximately 12 weeks.
The salary reflected above is current for 2025. This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME.An employee in the Legal Intern class will work directly with a Division Head Attorney in all phases of the civil, criminal & public health and human services legal process by utilizing and applying standardized principals of law. Duties include answering defense motions, conducting legal research, and appearing in court with a supervising attorney. The work is performed under the direction of a Division Head. WORK LOCATION:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
- Applicant must be a first, second, or third year law school student, eligible to practice under the Minnesota Practice Rule.
All candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the appointing authority for consideration.
TENTATIVE RECRUITMENT & SCREENING PROCESS SCHEDULE:
- December 6, 2024 – Applicant screening will begin
- End of December 2024 or Early January 2025 – Interviews to be conducted
